Denver International Airport Train Transfers

Denver Airport has a direct connection with downtown Denver. RTD (Regional Transportation District’s) “University of Colorado A-Line” provides rail transportation to and from the airport. The connections between downtown Denver, Denver International Airport, and the many communities along I-70 are easy to use, affordable and reliable. There are connections at Union Station to the C, E, R, W light rail lines, the B Line commuter rail line to Westminster and local and regional buses.

The Regional Transportation District's airport rail link is actually an electric commuter rail line between downtown Denver Union Station to DIA Hotel and Transit Center. This line, called University of Colorado A Line, is also known as the "East Rail Line" and connects the Airport and the capital of Colorado in approximately 35 minutes. The A line runs across an area of 22.8 miles and connects employment centers, neighborhoods and development districts in Denver and Aurora. The A Line was constructed and funded as part of the Eagle P3 public-private partnership and opened for service on April 22, 2016.

Riders departing from Union Station will reach the airport in 37 minutes, with trains leaving every 15 minutes during peak times and every 30 minutes from 03:00 am to 05:00 am and 06:30 pm to 01:00 am). The fares to and from DEN are just $10.50 (with discounts available), per day from any of the stations along the A Line and includes unlimited rides on this certain line, as well as the entire RTD Light Rail system, daily throughout the week.
You can find the train or bus stop on Level 1 of the airport’s Transit Center, under the Westin Denver International Airport. To catch your flight, please get to Level 5.

The central area of the airport has two security screening areas and exits from the underground train platform.
Passengers should purchase their ticket at the vending machines available at the train stations or at DEN Transit Center. They are also available at the RTD Information Booth where you can buy tickets for the light rail as well. To enter the train you'll need a validated ticket. Your ticket will automatically be validated with the date and time you purchased it from the machine.

In case you're moving around the city, it is easy to find the stations. There are red and white signs on nearby streets leading to them. Many of the RTD light rail stations have free parking areas.

Bus routes and/or Call-n-Rides also serve multiple stations. The RTD light rail system splits into four ticket zones: A, B, C and Airport. The number of zones you travel in for each one-way trip determines your fare. Arriving trains stop at every station, so you don't have to signal the driver. Once the train stops, the doors will automatically open, or you can push the lighted green button. Please wait for the passengers on the train to exit before you get on board.
As the train approaches, check the available electronic sign above the windshield to make sure this is the right line you want to embark on. Wait for the train to come to a full stop. The doors will open and you can board. Once the train begins its journey, a fare inspector will check your ticket.

Offer: Amtrak offers a Fly-Rail plan for ticketing with United Airlines for trips into scenic areas in the Western United States.
