Denver is well known as a cultural and sustainable city, with the second-highest educated population in America. It is located 1,609 meters (5,280 feet) above sea level, in the Rocky Mountains. Denver is known for its combination of unique outdoor activities and great entertainment. Although Denver is located high into the mountains, it has a mild, dry and sunny climate and during winter, an average daily high of 45 degrees (7 degrees Celsius). Some places demonstrate the playful personality of this vivid modern city like the Colorado Convention Center. It displays a giant blue bear statue which can be seen through the Center’s glazed exterior.

With a population of more than 3 million, Denver is one of the best cities in the USA to enjoy your favorite winter sports or a baseball game at The Coors Field during the summer. When the weather's good and it usually is, you can stroll around the shops of Larimer Square, or observe the fantastic and colorful flowers in the Botanical Gardens.

The city has beautifully colored buildings from the 19th century. Denver Botanical Gardens is a 23-acre oasis, located in the middle of the city. There are 45 different gardens with 33,000 plants and the largest single structure tropical conservatory in the U.S. Stroll in the Japanese Garden, explore the new Mordecai Children's Garden and the Rock Alpine Garden. Forney Museum Transportation has a one of a kind collection. They have some remarkable historic vehicles, Henry Staver's carriage from 1905 and Henry Ford's Model T which hit the market in 1909. This gas-powered car sold almost 14,000 units in the first year, while Staver sold just 426.

Larimer Square is the city's first designated local historic district. In its 50-year history it has transformed into a bustling spot filled with boutiques, bistros, and bars. (Shops open on Monday Friday 10 to 7 pm. Saturday 10 to 6pm; Sunday midday to 5 pm. )

Coors Field is a great ballpark located right in the heart of Denver. There are many restaurants and bars within walking distance It's a perfect way to spend the afternoon while you're visiting one of the most beautiful baseball fields in the US. Check out the Blue Moon brewery built into the stadium and enjoy your cold brew while watching a game. You can also buy discount tickets that are "standing room only" and include your first drink free.

Coors Brewery offers tours to visitors, to explore this famous company which was established in 1873 and remains the largest single-site brewery worldwide. Free half-hour tours are offered daily, highlighting Coor's malting, brewing, and packaging operations. All adult participants have the opportunity to sample the company's beers following tours. 16th Street Mall is a one-mile-long pedestrian avenue, just in the heart of downtown. The area is full of colorful cafes, nightspots, and stores. There is a free shuttle that stops at every block along the strip.
Go shopping in Cherry Creek North District. There are16 blocks of shopping and dining featuring around 320 independently owned shops, restaurants, art galleries, etc. (Be careful of pickpockets).
Stroll around the city and explore street art especially at the River North neighborhood and Art District on Santa Fe.
Explore the Rocky Mountains via Rocky Mountains Park. There you can go for hiking, white waters rafting, fishing, and other amazing outdoor activities.

TIPS:
Most Denver neighborhoods from the historic center to Suburbans are safe in general. But it is better to take precautions and be around people, especially during night time. You can use Public transportation which is affordable and accessible, as are the taxis albeit a little more expensive. They run most hours during the night.

Do not forget to hydrate regularly and have a bottle of water, handy. In Denver, you are 5280 feet closer to the sun and dehydration is common.
